HELP! Whats a good song for him?

So I really Like this guy and he's a soldier. He currently has a girlfriend tho... :'( But Ive heard rumors from his guy friends that say hes had a crush on me fro quite some time. I was in a relationship with this guy a couple months back and him and the soldier are friends. But truth be told, my ex was controlling and a jerk. So, the soldier guy has always helped me through that. SO I was wondering what a good song would be to describe the friendship/mutual liking each other realtionship thing considering his girlfriend and my ex trying to take over my life and tyring to get back together with me when I don't want him to and I would like to date the soldier. (Confusing right?) I considered Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne but it just doesnt quite fit. Suggestions?
