Why are Virginmedia allowed to charge 68.24p for a 5 minute 0845 call?

Have you tried the website a href="http://www.saynoto0870.com" rel="nofollow"http://www.saynoto0870.com/a ? This allows you to search for alternative numbers to 08 prefix options (eg, 0844, 0845, 0870, 0871 and alternatives to freefone 0800 and 0500 prefixes. These freefone numbers are free from landlines, but can cost around 40p per minute from a mobile. Next time you have an 0845 or similar number to ring, have a look at this website and see if you can find a local rate number, such as an 01 or 02 prefix. Depending on your tariff, these numbers will be either free or standard rate; but will definitely be cheaper than an 08 prefix call.
