Australians, what does vegemite really taste like?

It seems Americans really don't like it but then again the examples I've seen were them taking a whopping spoonful of it xD I'm American and I've never tried it, but I would be willing to!! So what does Vegemite really taste like? Thanks!! 10 points!!
