How to factory reset laptop!?

I have a gateway laptop that didn't come with a dis because it doesn't have a disk reader and i tryed to set it fro my account and i couldn't because it said i need the disk so do i need to push one of the "F#" buttons if so which one and if i have to take it to a shop how much will that cost?
