Is it safe to run Games For Windows Live on a Toshiba laptop?

I want to get a computer fro my room.. But I was thinking that a laptop would be a better choice for space. I was wondering if it is a difference? I don't know the year of the laptop, but it runs Windows Vista so it sounds newer. Thanks.
